VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVES
A VFD is a type of motor controller that drives an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage supplied to the electric motor. VFD's are also referred to as variable speed drives, adjustable speed drives, adjustable frequency drives, AC drives, micro-drives, and inverters. Elworthy provides both on site and in-shop options for VFD service, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and repairs. We can service all types VFD applications no matter where they are used, including the elevator industry, food and beverage processing, conveyor systems, HVAC systems, motor controlling applications, factory automation, forestry, mining, and the film industry.
We have a large stock of new and used repair parts in our inventory from a wide range of manufacturers. Our experienced technicians have the qualifications and experience to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and repair:
• Elevator Drives
• Vector Drives
• Servo Drives
• AC Inverter Drives
• DC Drives
• SCR’s
• Soft starters
• Speed Control
We provide engineering (design) consultation, panel building, installation, commissioning and startup, technical support, and repairs. We implement parameters for a variety of speed control, torque, braking, positioning, and tension control applications. A variable frequency drive can use VFD control to vary the power supplied to match the energy requirement of the driven equipment, and this is how it saves energy or optimizes energy consumption. From a single VFD application to an entire VFD array control panel, or a motor control center (MCC) setup, we will help you pick the proper size and type of VFD configuration, no matter what size drive or type of specific application you require.
We also specialize in complete control systems and VFD’s in the TV & Film industry, including wind/storm machines, fans, and lighting and sound systems.
